NEW INSTITUTE OF FRENCH RESEARCH AS OUTCOME OF THE FUTURE AGRICULTURE LAW

French Minister of Agriculture, Le Foll, participated Friday, October 30, in Dijon, in a meeting with members of the Institute of Agronomy, Veterinary and Forestier France (IAVFF). This meeting was also the occasion for the signing of a partnership agreement between the IVF and the Grand Dijon.
This institute, created by the future law for agriculture, food and forest of October 13, 2014 to date includes 14 public school of engineering, veterinary and landscape of the ministries of agriculture and 4 higher education and research institutions: INRA and ANSES IRSTEA and CIRAD. The IAFF allow consistency in the implementation of the whole agricultural system, French veterinary and forestry. It will ensure better coordination and enhanced cooperation between players in the training and research, to strengthen excellence in French research and help to ensure agronomy, veterinary and forestry at the highest level. On the occasion of his address, Minister Le Foll said :"pride that France has a unique system of higher education and research specialised in agriculture, forestry, nutrition, public health, water and landscape. He stressed IF that would better enhance the research conducted by its members internationally. "
The Minister Le Foll, has set a target to the digital university institute to be in the "top five" world in its field. To this end the Minister stressed that the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on agroecology that he has launched at the Paris International Agricultural Show in 2014 already more than 11 000 registered from 90 countries. The program is available in French and intend to be developed in other languages.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Stephane Le Foll also asked the AIFF to be a pilot in the animation component of higher education plans "Agriculture Innovation-2025", the research project "4 per thousand: Soils for Food Security and Climate" and continue to be involved in the 'agro-ecological project for France "as its members have for December 2012.----------------------------------------------------
The Minister concluded the session by noting that: "Schools and research institutes members IAVFF represented all of our territories and symbolised the French excellence in research and knowledge" Stephane Le Foll, the minister of Agriculture also said: "This day was for me a very concrete evidence of an advancing France, is preparing for future challenges and, now, with the IMF, has the means of its ambition to become the world leader in agro-ecology ".
