The implementation of the Paris Agreement commits us to accelerate energy transition and to be exemplary in the development of renewable energy to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases and enhance security of supply in France. It is also an industrial opportunity for our territories.
In 2015, renewable electricity production increased by over 23% (non-hydro), with 1,000 MW of new wind capacity and 900 MW of new solar capacity. By occupation, 2,000 jobs were created in 2014 in wind power. The last call of photovoltaic deals will generate nearly a billion euros of investment and mobilize 5,000 people to turn the winning installations.

To accelerate the development of renewable energy, Ségolène Royal, French Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development, announced today:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The signature and the decree simplifying bidding, which will reduce to 6 to 8 months the procedural deadlines.---------------
2. Pursuant to this decree, Ségolène Royal announced the immediate referral to the Energy Regulatory Commission on the specifications of the tender on small hydropower, the last stage before publication.----------------------------------------------------
3. The implementation of the decree consultation on the connection time, which will finalize the implementation of Article 105 of the energy transition law for green growth.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Consultation implementation of the Ordinance on renewable energy, which will allow: to remove the threshold of 12 MW to benefit from a support mechanism to clarify the provisions relating to the purchase obligation in order to ensure better integration in the electricity market for renewable energy, optimize the integration of renewable energy to the electrical system and expand the tendering procedure in any proceedings of competition. This order will allow to finalize the implementation of Article 119 of the energy transition law for green growth.
